How to Really Build Profit?
Hint: It starts with the work you do within and in service to the people you touch.
The Big Idea 🚀
The Law of Spiritual Profit: Why the Way You Make Money Matters More Than the Money Itself
When most people hear the word profit, they think of numbers.
Revenue. Expenses. Margin.
And yes, those numbers matter. A business that doesn’t make money doesn’t survive. But if you’ve led a company for any length of time, you already know something deeper: you can hit your numbers and still feel like you’re losing.
You can grow revenue and lose trust with your staff.
You can expand margins and shrink your excitement.
You can win deals but still feel empty inside.
You can even build a company and lose yourself in the process.
That’s because real profit is not just financial. True profit is the total value you create at every level; financial, relational, cultural, and personal. And behind all of it sits one invisible driver: your consciousness.
Why Value Compounds Faster When You Align With Higher Laws
Traditional business math says:
Price minus cost equals margin.
Simple.
But if you focus only on that equation, you will quietly drain other accounts you can’t see on a spreadsheet. You might gain cash while losing trust. Increase output while exhausting your team. Close deals while compromising your values.
Those losses do not show up immediately. They show up later as churn, burnout, turnover, brand erosion, and fatigue. And at some point, a purposeless existence.
Spiritual profit is different. It looks at five ledgers that actually drive sustainable financial success:
Financial capital. Revenue, margin, cash flow.
Relational capital. Trust with customers, partners, investors.
Cultural capital. Engagement, alignment, loyalty, friendships in business.
Consciousness. Your clarity, emotional steadiness, your connection to The Creator (or whatever it is you call it).
Purpose. The deeper reason your company exists and what it allows people to become.
The law is simple:
Create surplus value at every level and profit compounds.
Extract value at any level and profit eventually decays.
You don’t have to believe in anything mystical to see this. It’s simple cause and effect. When you consistently leave people better than you found them, value returns to you in ways that multiply. When you cut corners or drain people to protect short-term margin, you pay later.
The Five Rules of Spiritual Profit
Rule 1: Surplus before extraction.
Before you ask for anything, ask yourself: did we leave this person better than we found them?
Did your prospect gain clarity?
Did your customer receive more value than expected?
Did your team member grow from the interaction?
When you create surplus first, people want to reciprocate. Referrals increase. Loyalty deepens. Negotiations soften. This is not charity. It is smart, long-term strategy. This is not some sort of spiritual woo-woo. Although we can say this is acting “spiritually”.
Rule 2: Trust is the highway of value.
They say money moves at the speed of trust. (The more people trust you, the easier and faster it is to find money, investments, etc. Right?)
Break trust and everything slows down. Deals stall. People hesitate. You need more follow-up, more persuasion, more control.
Honor trust and things accelerate. Clear agreements. Kept promises. Honest conversations early instead of damage control later.
Trust is not soft. It is infrastructure.
Let that sink it. Trust is infrastructure. Real infrastructure.
Rule 3: Alignment multiplies. Fragmentation taxes.
When your purpose, values, strategy, and daily behavior line up, you feel momentum. Decisions become easier. Your team moves in the same direction. Energy flows toward growth.
When those elements are misaligned, you feel drag. Rework increases. Politics creep in. Good people leave. Meetings multiply.
Alignment compounds. Fragmentation leaks.
Rule 4: Maintenance prevents chaos.
You do not build culture once and move on. You do not earn trust once and forget about it. You do not tighten cash controls once and assume they’ll hold.
Small, regular care prevents large, expensive chaos.
If you are a CEO, you are also a Chief Fulfillment Officer. Each week, ask yourself: how am I maintaining trust, clarity, and purpose?
Neglect always costs more than maintenance.
Rule 5: Energy precedes outcomes.
Your internal state becomes your company’s external reality.
A calm, clear leader creates calm, clear systems. A reactive, scattered leader creates reactive, scattered teams.
When you work on yourself from the inside out, you create permission for others to do the same. You create a culture where mistakes are admitted early and help is requested without shame.
That alone can save you millions over time.
A Real Example
I work with a CEO in the fast-casual restaurant world. It’s a competitive, high-pressure industry with thin margins and intense operational demands.
But this leader lives these five rules every day.
He works on himself. He is available to his team not just for performance reviews but for growth. He sees his role as helping others become better versions of themselves, not just better employees.
He keeps his promises. He addresses tension early. He talks openly about values. He aligns his strategy with what he believes about service and contribution.
The result?
His top-line revenue and net profit margins are about 40 percent higher than the average restaurant in his vertical.
He also works less than most CEOs. He runs the company virtually from another state. His team is deeply committed. Turnover is low. Service quality is high.
Is this a coincidence?
No.
He is creating surplus at every level. Financial profit is the echo of that surplus.
Practices to Strengthen Spiritual Profit
You do not need a retreat in the mountains to begin. Start small.
1. The Value-Before-Value Test
Pick one prospect, one customer, and one team member this week.
Ask: what can I do that leaves them better off before I ask for anything in return?
It might be a proactive update. A helpful introduction. A hard truth delivered with respect. A genuine thank-you.
Surplus first.
2. The Promise Ledger
Create a simple shared list with two columns: promises made and promises kept.
Review it weekly.
Few things build trust faster than visible accountability.
3. Pricing with Integrity
Look at your core offers.
What outcome do you truly deliver?
Where are the boundaries?
What is the fastest honest path to value?
Cut the fluff. Raise prices where you consistently create surplus. Confidence and clarity reinforce each other.
Micro-Practices That Compound
Daily: Make one trust deposit. Send a clear update. Share a difficult truth early. Offer specific appreciation.
Weekly: Trace one current problem back to an earlier broken promise. Fix the pattern, not just the symptom.
Monthly: Tell a story publicly about someone who lived your values under pressure. Stories shape culture faster than policies.
The Thank-You Receipt
When someone delivers for you, record a short message explaining exactly what they did, why it mattered, and what result it created.
It costs nothing. It multiplies motivation. It strengthens relational capital faster than bonuses alone.
I recently got a voiceclip from a CEO who thanked me for helping him renew a client. It was no big deal to me. I was doing my job coaching this client, but she had grown so much internally that she renewed her contract with the CEO in question. He didn’t need to thank me. But he did. It was great to get that message. Thank you work. They make your day, right? So make someone else’s day.
Closing Thought
Profit is not just a number at the bottom of a spreadsheet. It is the echo of thousands of invisible choices.
Kept promises.
Protected energy.
Aligned actions.
Clear intentions.
The courage to build something that makes money and meaning at the same time.
When you create surplus at every level, money follows. When you align your leadership with deeper principles, compounding begins to work in your favor.
That is the law of spiritual profit.

For over 2,000 years, seekers of every faith — Jews, Christians, Muslims, and beyond — have turned to a mystical text called the Zohar. This isn’t just another book. It’s considered a map of the universe, a spiritual tool that reveals secrets of abundance, protection, and true prosperity.
One of the most powerful sections of the Zohar is called Miketz. For centuries, it’s been studied and used as a channel for financial sustenance, spiritual strength, and lasting fulfillment.
